Congleton U3A Ukulele Group (Tuesday Group)

  • Venue: Wellspring Methodist Church, 100 Canal Street, Congleton CW12 3AP
  • Time: 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Meetings are weekly during term time.
  • The songs are projected on to a large screen but some members prefer to bring a tablet and stand.

Biddulph Ukulele Group (BUG)

  • Venue:  ‘Barley Mow’ Pub, Church Road, Biddulph ST8 6NE
  • Meeting Day:   Thursday
  • Meeting Time:   8.00 pm – 10.30 pm
  • Cost per Meeting:   Free, although there is a raffle which is voluntary – tickets cost £1
  • A beginners class will start again in September (date to be confirmed) for six weeks. Ukuleles provided.

A projector is used for the songs, which are mostly from Jim Carey’s song book (www.ozbcoz.com),so no need for tablets or paper.  If beginners come along someone will spend a separate half hour with them, and then every week beginners’ songs are played for the first half hour. Everyone is welcome no matter what their level of playing is.

Sandbach U3A Ukulele Group

This group is suitable for absolute beginners with no musical experience and intermediate players who are happy with basic chords and strumming. Contact the leader via the website.

This group meets purely for pleasure to play a wide variety of songs from Jim Carey’s ukulele song book – www.ozbcoz.com – and the Bull’s Head Song Book, downloaded on to an iPad/tablet.  It is therefore NOT suitable for complete beginners though those who complete a ukulele beginners’ course elsewhere should be able to join in.  All are welcome to visit the group at anytime during the session to see what is going on and to join in or just sing along.
